Far Away, Still Here

My memories on 29 Jan – 9 Feb 2026 in Siem Reap, Cambodia

These are the questions I seek when I join the Angkor Photo Workshop.

“Do humans still have peace and freedom for each other?”

Before I apply, I feel fear and doubt.

But I also see my own courage to face something unknown.

I do not know what this journey will become.

I only know that I need to go there

to understand it by myself.

The first lesson is truth.

I do not tell my family

that I go to Siem Reap, Cambodia.

I do not tell the truth.

But

I tell the truth to local people there

about where I come from.

Because they ask me,

“Where are you from?”

I prepare this answer before I arrive.

I imagine many reactions from the people in front of me.

I feel afraid.

Some days, I feel like I cannot tell the truth.

I witness many emotions and situations happening around me.

And I think

.

.

.

I come from far away
I see
I hear
I feel

Fear
Courage
Confusion
All present
Ordinary
Human

I seek no answers
I fix nothing
I stand
with what is.

Resistance softens.
Silence appears

“………………….”

Acceptance
does not make things better.
It makes staying possible.

And here,
there is peace of mind.
